SB-721 & SB-326 Compliance
California requires recurring inspections of certain Exterior Elevated Elements (EEEs), including balconies, decks, stairways, walkways, landings, and related waterproofing systems when they are supported substantially by wood and more than 6 feet above grade.
SB-721 generally applies to apartment buildings with 3 or more units and currently requires inspections by January 1, 2026, with reinspections every 6 years thereafter. SB-326 generally applies to condominium associations and common interest developments, requiring inspections in coordination with the reserve study process at least every 9 years.
